Today we had a very sucessful fundraier, $1,137 was collected in 3 1/2 hours. We would like to express our thanks to Hometown Buffet. Becky Brucks and the Hometown Bee came out of nowhere to assist us. She provided passes to the restaurant that we were able to hand out as a thank you to those donating there spare change and bills to the 341st FSG fund. Becky also supplied lunch for the volunteers. We would also like to thank Paul Martinez, a member of the American Legion Post 83 out of Merced. He saw what we were doing and wanted to participate. Paul asked to be notified for our next fundraiser so he could help out again. Thanks goes out to all the Tracy Community for supporting our soldiers.
Thanks to all our volunteers: Lori Fishburn, Andy, Tony & Mine Seckler, Becky Brucks and the Bee (Hometown Buffett), Jason, Maria, Jason Jr.(341st soldier) & Kathy Calhoun, Bob & Ruby Estes, Paul Martinez (American Legion), Susan Seay, Tina Fuller, Darcy Abreu, Carol Carlson, Loren & Stephanie Temme, Denise Rameriz & her daughter Gabriella, Terri Johnson and 3 local teenagers, Jake Parsons, Jeremiah and Taylor McDonald who came to help out. Thanks to all.
The Tracy Press and Channel 3 News came out to cover our plight. As many have heard, the expected 4/20 date for our soldiers to leave Iraq has been delayed. This is the second time since being deployed to Iraq that the 341st Military Police Company has been disappointed. They were told at the begining of the year they would be held over an additional 127 days. that would have brought them home last month. Start thinking of fundraisers now, so when we get together in May we can start planning. The more we raise, the better the homecoming will be. Our soldiers deserve the best, lets do what we can to provide it for them.
